ASHINGTON FESTIVAL, 17th AUGUST 2019
1.30pm-11pm

Wow! What a day packed with fun for everyone this year.

In the arena we welcome back the stunning Essex dog team who will be sharing the bill with The “Mad Team” of stunt cyclists. Back by popular demand is Tom Foolery kindly sponsored by Saxon Weald, the children’s entertainer and The Medina Marching Band will be performing in the arena.

During the evening we will be entertained once again by Danny Oliver aka Michael Jackson, who actually performed for the great man himself twice! Then we see the return of our good old favourites, “Creative Covers Band” who provide us with well- known hits from throughout the decades, something for everyone.

Later we have a Disco from ‘Retrospect Event Sound’. One for the children and one for the adults at the end of the evening. Of course we will also be wowed by our fantastic Firework display at 10pm.

We’ve kept the old favorites too, Harris Brothers Funfair, the Arun Vet Group fun dog show, car boot sale, flower show, classic car show, craft, charity and animal stalls and sideshows. Food outlets include Thai, pizzas, jacket potatoes, crepes, burgers, hot dogs, doughnuts and ice cream. There’s also a licensed bar and Pimm’s tent.

Our Carnival procession starts at 1.30pm. Leading the Carnival will be the Carnival Princess 2019 Madalyn Lee aged 10 and her two Attendants Vivi Evans aged 7 and Marcelo Donno aged 6, Madalyn also has two Pageboys Ryan Shoosmith aged 8 and Jimmy Daniel age 7. The Carnival will start in Foster Lane and travel via The Sands, Rectory Lane, London Road and Church Lane. Please note there will be No Parking along one side of Foster Lane, The Sands, Rectory Lane and Church Lane. Road closures will be in place on Foster Lane from 12 noon until 2.30pm, the bottom of the Sands from 12pm-4pm and the remainder of the route from 1.30-2.30pm.

A Free Car Park, kindly provided by Harris Brothers Fair, will be available under the bridge at the bottom of the village. This will be signposted from both directions on the A24. The friends of the Harris family generally provide transport to and from the car park on a regular schedule.

Disabled parking, for blue badge holders, will be available in the Community Centre’s Car Park in Foster Lane and the one acre site also in Foster Lane.

We look forward in seeing you all at the Festival for what we hope will be a fantastic day.
