Ashington Festival Saturday 17th August 2024
This year on the Recreation Ground there will be plenty for everyone. We have 6 different food stalls, a fully licenced bar, ice cream, Harris’s Funfair plus extra rides to keep older children and teenagers occupied. There will be the usual Dog Show, Car Show, plenty of stalls selling crafts, cakes, plants and many more. We also have a Car Boot Sale at the Northern end of the Recreation Ground.
For our entertainment in the arena, we welcome back Stallions of Substance with their brilliant horse act, our old favourite Tom Foolery to entertain the children, and the brilliant aerial act Knotted Aerial, the Sussex Steel Band playing their wonderful music. We welcome the Ashington Musical Theatre Society singing and dancing to music from the musicals. We also welcome Whisky Over Ice band playing modern country music.
We have a Grand Raffle and a separate raffle for The Wheelbarrow of Booze.
The evening will continue with Legend has it, playing music through the decades. Also performing is Marc as Robbie Williams and a Disco to keep you dancing the night away. The final hour begins with a huge firework display at 10pm, followed by more disco.
There will be no carnival parade but a good time will be had by all on the Recreation Ground.
